Architect and founder
My obsession with design is routed in homes, I love how our personality and tastes can be translated into the spaces we live in. Whether it's refurbishing a period property or starting a new build from scratch, my approach to designing homes is simple - to create beautiful spaces which compliment their surroundings and, most importantly, to work in everyday life.
I have over 10 years experience working on bespoke high-end residential projects providing architectural services through to project management and interior design. My architectural career began in a small traditional practice working on heritage homes including Listed Buildings and Scheduled Monuments where I could pursue my passion for detail and bespoke designs. Following this, I gained several years of experience working for a luxury home builder. Acting as project Architect, I was tasked with designing and managing projects from initial sketch scheme through to complete build including full interior fit outs. It gave me valuable first-hand experience tracking construction costs, procuring materials and packages of work along with managing the build.
Wider architectural context.
I believe in the importance of 'place' - how architectural design can help contribute to the character and identity of how a place feels to us. Think of the red brick Victorian terraces of Manchester to the stone walled cottages in the Lake District.
Site.
Every plot of land has its own unique set of attributes and constraints: the orientation of sunlight, being sheltered or exposed, flat or contoured land, surrounding views, privacy. All of these factors should influence design.
Interiors.
I design homes for people to live in and experience. These can be calming and neutral or bold and colourful. I have an appreciation for quality of construction and craftsmanship. Cleverly considered details make an enormous impact on how we experience space.
